DESCRIPTION

With a stack of four parallelepipeds glass culminating at 160 meters (38 floors), this makes the Paris Court one of the biggest projects in the capital. It is also the largest place of justice in Europe.

Launched in 2012 as part of the reorganization of the justice services, the Paris Court new site promises not to go unnoticed in the landscape of the capital.

With a surface area of 135,000 m², the new building is able to accommodate 9,000 people every day. It also includes 3,200 m² of public reception area, a 5,500 m² lobby/waiting area (28 meters high), 9,400 m² for 90 hearing rooms and 1 hectare of urban forest.

The project was conceived with ambitious environmental aims, especially for a tall building, and is covered by Paris' climate plan. With a stack of four parallelepipeds glass culminating at 160 meters with 38 floors, this makes him not only one of the biggest projects in Paris, but also the largest place of justice in Europe.

The architect agency Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW) led the project, carried out by Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France.

Delivered in June 2017, this quite imposing building counts a glass surface exceeding 50,000 m². The architects aim was here to symbolize the transparency of justice.

product used

Thanks to Saint-Gobain glass solutions for façade, the future court will provide real comfort to its occupants with acoustic and thermal insulation, solar control glass, fire protection and silkscreened glass. The Saint-Gobain products were also chosen by the architects for their exterior appearance. The combination of the products offers greater personality to the building and filters the light to offer a pleasant environment inside.

COOL-LITE® SKN 054 was ideal to provide solar control performance and thermal insulation properties to this very large glazing façade.

To complete this high performance glazing, the architects chose to use COOL-LITE® ST BRIGHT SILVER for its very good solar protection and aesthetics with bright reflectivity, and SGG CLIMAPLUS as double-glazing to help to increase safety and security.

With solar control and thermal insulation glazing for its façade, the Paris Court can keep its interiors cooler during hot weather and warmer during the cooler months.

While choosing Saint-Gobain products, the Paris Court, which meets the requirements of the Climate Plan of the City of Paris, will be able to consume two times less energy than the recent towers of La Defense, thus taking its place in the exemplary achievements against global warming.
