Insulation (EI class) fire-resistant glass prevents the escape of heat

EI-classified, fire-resistant glass compartmentalizes and prevents the spread of fire while ensuring safe evacuation.

To prevent heat and fire spreading, regulations specify minimum requirements for the insulation (EI) of fire glass.

Fire resistant glass with the EI-classification provides similar protection to integrity glass, plus high level thermal insulation. This serves to compartmentalize fire and protects areas, such as escape routes, atria, stairwells, and lift lobbies.

This special fire-resistant glass functions as a barrier to heat transmission limiting the average temperature rise to 180°C. Thereby preventing fire spread to combustible materials by heat conduction or convection on the safe side.

Contraflam from GLASSOLUTIONS is a range of fire-resistant safety glass that offers integrity and insulation.
